KARACHI: A meeting here reviewed on Monday arrangements for the coming Shabe-Barat
The meeting was held in the KMC Head Office on Monday and chaired by the City council parliamentary leader Aslam Shah Afridi
.
It was informed that KMC will arrange installation of 40 generators and 1160 focus lights in the 24 graveyards including Mewashah graveyard, Mohammad Shah graveyard, Sakhi Hassan graveyard, Liaquatabad C-1 area graveyard, Essa Nagri graveyard, Korangi No.6 graveyard, Model colony graveyard, Mehmoodabad graveyard, Yasinabad graveyard and Paposhnagar graveyard.
City wardens will also be deputed around graveyards for traffic control and guidance of visitors, and anti-encroachments staff will remove encroachments on road leading to the graveyards.
The meeting was told that as 80 percent of city graveyards are located in district West, DMC West will ensure better arrangements in its limits.
