LARKANA:PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said on Monday that the meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was purely on humanitarian grounds and Sharif should be given proper medical treatment of his choice being a political prisoner.
“When federal government can release a pilot of an enemy country, and Dictator Pervaiz Musharraf cannot be called back to face treason case, then why three times elected prime minister is not allowed to get treatment of his choice,” Khuhro said while addressing a press conference at Larkana Press Club here today. He said the federal ministers were making mockery over his treatment and asked do they wanted to kill him?
He said for giving protection to the institutions, Charter of Democracy (CoD) is present but it should be implemented and it is for the PPP and PML-N to implement its leftover points. Khuhro said under 18th amendment, EOBI and Workers Welfare Board (WWB) should be under provinces, but Center had not yet handed over these institutions for which he demanded that notification should be issued immediately.
He said: “FBR is annually receiving billions of rupees in taxes illegally. Sindh Revenue Board should be given this right to collect taxes from EOBI and WWB.” Khuhro said rights of the provinces should be given to them. He said prime minister went to Thar but did not announce anything for them, adding he did talk about giving health cards but there were no federal government hospitals in Sindh, then from where people will get treatment.
He said: “Criticism is being made over Bilawal’s English speech but Quaid-e-Azam was also making speech in English, adding criticism on Bilawal was in fact criticism on Quaid-e-Azam. Khuhro said efforts were being made to overcome water shortage in Badin. He said PPP since last four years was providing free wheat to 286,000 homes in Thar and further claimed that apart from Thar wheat was also distributed among the people of Kohistan, Kasho and Achro Thar. He said all political parties displayed seriousness in de-escalation of crisis between Pakistan and India. He said Pakistan wanted peace and stability because it would strengthen the country on global level. Khuhro said entire nation was united over defense and well-being of the country.
