Karachi:Pasban Democratic Party has decried illegal raise in bus fare in the megacity and appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of this highhandedness of private transporters and criminal ignorance of the Sindh transport department.
Pasban Democratic Party Karachi chapter president Abdul Hakim Quaid said the transporter mafia has unilaterally increased bus fares in the megacity without any government notification. He said commuters are being exploited by private transporters but the government of Sindh is playing the role of silent spectator.
He said transporters run buses on cheap CNG but charge fare on the basis of costly diesel use which is a plain fraud. He demanded to regularize public transport sector in the megacity and rationalize bus fares to facilitate commuters.
