Pilot School Larkana completes 100 years education service

LARKANA:Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana has completed its 100 years education service on Tuesday. To celebrate this memorable landmark, the students and teachers of the school took out a large rally, which after marching through various roads, culminated at Jinnah Bagh.

Principal of the school Allah Bux Soomro told newsmen that over one hundred thousand students have so far obtained education from this historical school who were now serving the country in various capacities in Pakistan and abroad.

He said Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh, first woman deputy speaker of the National Assembly Dr Begum Ashraf Abbasi, Senator Khalid Mahmood Soomro, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Additional Chief Secretary Roshan Ali Shaikh, Director World Bank Ali Nawaz Memon, former MNA Khalid Iqbal Memon, former Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi, ex-BISE Chairman Mahboob Shaikh, Secretary Ghulam Abbas Detho, Haji Munwar Abbasi, IGP Gilgit-Baltistan Sanaullah Abbasi and so many others had been educated at this school.

He said previously co-education was in effect, but later girls schools are established and they were shifted there. He said at the moment 6300 students are enrolled from class VI to XII for which only 140 teachers are working to impart education in 43 classes. He said 27 non-teaching staff is also available posted here.

He claimed that this school is one of those schools of Sindh which has best enrollment in the province. He said 100-years festival will be organised which will be held from 11 to 16th February where students will establish various stalls, exhibition, quiz and speech competitions and informative educational programs will be arranged. He said musical night will also be held in the end in which renowned Sufi singers will perform.
