PMA’s long time demand has been met by the Sindh Government, they have presented a bill on providing emergency treatment to injured person on top priority basis without any charge, both at government and private hospitals, says a PMA release.

Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) appreciates the Sindh Government for presenting this bill, which was the need of the hour to save the lives of the patients particularly the critical injured patients. The innocent people were dying in the casualty departments of the hospitals. This legislation will definitely help the effected person visiting the emergency department.

There are many laws, rules and regulations in our country but the most important thing is an implementation of the laws, which is often neglected, now we want the implementation of the law in later and spirit.

We request the government to extend its Medico Legal services also towards private hospitals and establish its units at least at four private hospitals in each district of Karachi. More over the person who bring any injured to a hospital should not be subjected to any sort of harassment.

PMA request the Federal Government that this law should be made and implemented in every hospital of Pakistan through Health Care Commission of each province.
