Police party fined with Rs2.5m in jirga; DIGP takes notice

LARKANA:The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Larkana Range, Irfan Baloch, has taken notice of grand jirga which was held in Dokri to decide the killing of Wazir Ali Chandio gunned down in a police encounter within the limits of Naundero police station sometime ago.

A fine of Rs 2.5 million was imposed in the jirga on the SHO and other members of his police party. FIR No: 39/2018 was lodged under Section 402, 324,53, 148 and 149 at Naundero police station on behalf of the state about the alleged encounter.

The relatives and heirs of the deceased were constantly protesting against his killing alleging that the deceased was arrested from his house at Chandio village of Dokri taluka and was killed in a fake encounter near Naundero.

The Jirga was held few days ago in Dokri which was headed by Bashir Gadhi, police sources said. It was decided in the jirga that a fine of Rs 2.5 million be imposed on the police party headed by former SHO Karam Ali Zardari (who has died five months ago).

SHO Nawabshah and former SHO Naundero PS Ghulam Abbas Shar was fined Rs 1.2 million, cop Ghulam Bughio 0. 5 million, cops Akhtar Sandeelo and Qazi Abdul Jabbar 3 lakh each. When the news spread in the media, DIGP ordered an inquiry under the chairmanship of SSP Larkana Masood Bangash and directed him to submit detailed report. SSP Bangash has directed the DSP Dokri to furnish him a detailed report in the matter.

Meanwhile, DIGP Irfan Baloch has also taken notice of two little brothers who drowned near Larkana and constituted a committee headed by ASP Hyderi, Muhammad Kaleem to find the truth. DIGP said that it is very tragic incident that two little boys lost their lives in Gharwah.
