Rally staged against Naseerabad’s chairman and councilors’ failure

NASEERABAD:Qaumi Amami Tehreek (QAT) leaders and activists took out rally here on Monday against Town Committee Naseerabad Chairman and councilors for cutting of all streetlights power lines, lack of cleanliness work and encroachments in the town.

The participants, carrying placards and banners, marched from Taxi Stand to Arthar Tributary, where they held a protest demonstration. The protesters chanted slogans against Naseerabad Chairman and local councilors for their failure in restoring streetlights and disconnected power supply to the town.

Speaking on the occasion, QAT leaders Anayat Tunio, Zameer Mugheri, Akhtiar Khaskheli, Mithal Kalhoro and others said that it was matter of great concern that power supply to streetlights of 12 town wards had been disconnected by SEPCO, but they were even unable to restore power of those streetlights despite having funds, while 90% town faces darkness due to disconnection of power supply.

They said that after taking votes, the elected representatives had not turned to the citizens to look into their problems and resolve them. They said that crime rate could increase in the town due to darkness while lack of cleanliness could raise diseases and make environment ugly.

Naseerabad’s 90% population faces power outages due to disconnection of electricity since many days. Citizens are passing life in miserable condition.

Many people, who have paid their bills, have also been put in darkness by removing LT wires. The social and business activities have badly been affected.

The citizens have also been affected by inflated electricity bills. They said that LT wires had gone missing in the pretext of laying cables. All burnt transformers need to be rectified besides restoring disconnected power lines so that citizens take a sigh of relief.
