KARACHI:Sindh Rangers on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two suspects from Karachi’s Landhi Sherpao Colony involved in a cop murder and street crimes.
According rangers spokesman, on an intelligence report, a rangers’ team conducted a raid in Landhi’s Sherpao Colony and apprehended two suspects involved in numerous robberies and a dacoity on 12 April 2018 that left a policeman dead.
The accused identified as Muhammad Yaseen and Umar Bhatt opened fire on a police constable, Mujahid Hussain, at his home in Labour Colony’ Sector F-2 Landhi, when they faced resistance during a robbery attempt.
They had managed to escape with Rs 35000 cash and police constable’s weapon. The spokesman further said during investigation, the accused confessed to killing a police constable and involvement in several robberies. The rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons used in the cop murder, and snatched 9-MM pistol from their possession. The accused were handed over to police for further investigation.
