SHC not satisfied with CTD’s report on missing person

KARACHI:The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the progress report submitted by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) regarding a missing citizen.

A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo heard the petitioned filed by Rasheeda Begum against the Government of Sindh, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Director General of Rangers, Senior Superintend of Police (SSP) CTD West, DIG Investigation West and Station House Officer (SHO) Baldia Town.

The Investigation Officer (IO) of the CTD stated that they have no material against the CTD officials pertaining to serious allegations levelled by petitioner against the CTD.

The bench showed dissatisfaction over the report and directed the Additional IGP to constitute a team comprising experienced police officials to trace the missing person, Sameer Khan, aged 28 and submit a report on next hearing.

The bench also directed the CTD West official to ensure its appearance on next hearing. The Court, later, adjourned the hearing till 27 February.

The petitioner, Rasheeda Begum had filed petition in which she stated that on 08/08/2016 at 12p.m, her son Sameer Khan, a bus conductor, left home to met a friend in Baldia Town area but he did not return home. Later, she (Petitioner) approached the area police station and registered a report but his son is still missing.
