QUETTA: China Pakistan Economic Corridor project would not only prove game changer for Pakistan but for entire region. Direct foreign investment from CPEC would change fate of whole of the region. Under CPEC project improving basic infrastructure and supply of energy would strengthen progress, prosperity and economy also.
These views were expressed by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms Rahila Durrani while addressing participants of day long CPEC Hidden Dimensions under aegis of Government of Balochistan, Pakistan Institute of Management and Balochistan Economic forum at Karachi Wednesday.
She said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is game changer for our region of this century which would open new vistas of economic development and employment. Moreover completion of this project would better peace and economy here. She said when we speak of CPEC reference of Balochistan become inevitable because this new project has increased possibility of Balochistan in Pakistan as new economic frontier.
Speaker said Baluchistan has suffered economically in the past owing to its small population and vast area but due to this mega project economic prospect would not change of our province but of entire country. She said it is pleasing that start of economic and social activities road network was also being built in Balochistan under CPEC. Local people have started building shops, hotels and houses along newly built roads connecting China with Gwadar and it would make people prosperous at lower level.
She expressed the hope that transparency would be ensure for implementation of this important project so that no doubt is created among local communities.
Rahila Durrani said that we have to make CPEC successful at every cost to maintain political stability in Balochistan. People are supportive of CPEC and are ready to welcome positive changes under this new project.
Expressing commitment she said entire nation particularly Balochistan people are fully hopeful for completion of CPEC because this project would provide opportunities for all the pupation.
Inviting Consul General of China to Balochistan Speaker Durrani said he should come to Balochistan along with his team and Chinese investors so that they take benefit of investment in other sectors of Balochistan. Balochistan Parliamentary delegation would also go China so that they are aware of projects being run under CPEC.
She hoped that such conference of importance would also be organized. She thanked organizers for successful conference on CPEC.
