KARACHI:A meeting of the Program Implementation Unit of Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) in Sindh was held to review arrangements for prevention and control dengue fever cases during monsoon at Program Office in Karachi Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Program Manager PCPD Dr Mahmood Iqbal. The aim of meeting was to review the situation of cases of dengue and ongoing prevention and control measures in the province particularly in Karachi. The following decisions were taken; extensive larviciding activities, in this regard special teams were constituted, community awareness for prevention and control measures, in this field teams will distribute pamphlets in general public and display banner in hospitals and public places.
The social mobilizers and other teams members will conduct awareness sessions in educational institutes. The teams will also organize Muhallah level meetings to create awareness in general public. The senior officers of the program will continue meeting with relents stakeholders to motivate them to take action at their end.
