A major security operation by Sindh Police in the Ghotki district resulted in the elimination of 12 highly dangerous dacoits, including a wanted ringleader with a Rs 5 million bounty on his head.

According to Sindh home ministry information today, the successful crackdown was part of an ongoing search operation targeting criminal elements in the region. According to DIG Sukkur Faisal Abdullah Chachar, a fierce gun battle erupted between law enforcement and the outlaws, leading to the significant casualties among the criminal gang.

Among those slain was the notorious dacoit Shah Nawaz, also known as Shahu, for whom the Sindh government had previously announced a substantial reward. The deceased were identified as members of the Shar gang, a group long considered a symbol of terror in the area.

Officials confirmed that police have recovered the bodies of seven slain criminals. However, their accomplices managed to take away the bodies of five others under the cover of darkness. It was also reported that approximately ten other armed dacoits were seriously injured during the encounter but successfully fled with their associates.

The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of DIG Sukkur Faisal Abdullah Chachar, with significant participation from SSP Ghotki Anwar Khetran, SSP Sukkur Azhar Mughal, and DSP Obaro Abdul Qadir Soomro, along with their respective teams. DIG Chachar stated that the police”s effective response forced the bandits to retreat and that a search operation in the affected area is still underway.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar commended the outstanding performance of the police forces involved, stating that their courageous and professional strategy led to the remarkable success. He noted that the elimination of these fearsome criminals has significantly boosted the morale of the police force.

The Home Minister reaffirmed the government”s resolve to continue taking every possible measure to ensure lasting peace and security across the province, vowing that the Sindh Police will not rest until all criminal elements are completely eradicated.
