16 Apprehended in Major Crackdown in Capital; Drugs, Firearms Seized

Islamabad police on Sunday claimed to have arrested 16 individuals, including several proclaimed offenders, and seized a significant cache of narcotics and illegal weapons during a widespread operation across the federal capital.

In a series of targeted actions, police teams from the Golra, Koral, Humak, Lohi Bher, Shahzad Town, and Bani Gala stations detained eight suspects allegedly involved in various illicit activities.

During these operations, law enforcement confiscated 600 grams of hashish, 151 units of ice, five pistols complete with ammunition, and one dagger from the possession of the accused. Formal cases have been lodged against the detained individuals, and further investigations are underway.

Separately, a special campaign aimed at apprehending fugitives resulted in the arrest of an additional eight proclaimed offenders and absconders by various police units.

The city-wide initiative follows specific directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of an ongoing and robust effort to dismantle criminal networks and maintain public order.

Officials have reiterated their commitment to safeguarding residents and their property, stating that elements seeking to disrupt public peace will not be tolerated. Ensuring security remains the foremost priority for the Islamabad Police.

Authorities also encouraged the public to contribute to societal safety by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to their nearest police station or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation in eradicating crime.
