The Capital Police on Friday informed that they had taken 16 suspicious individuals into custody for further legal proceedings following extensive search and combing operations conducted across various parts of the federal capital.
The city-wide security initiative, carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, follows special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at suppressing criminal elements.
During the targeted manoeuvres, law enforcement personnel checked 165 individuals, 105 houses, 27 motorcycles, and 15 vehicles. In addition to the detained persons, two motorcycles were also impounded and moved to police stations.
SSP Operations Islamabad stated that the purpose of these security sweeps is to tighten the noose around criminals and bolster safety throughout the city.
He confirmed that similar operations are being conducted throughout the district, with authorities continuing what was described as indiscriminate actions against criminal elements, land-grabbing mafias, and drug peddlers.
Officials have also requested that citizens remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to their nearest police station or the emergency helpline, ‘Pucar-15.’
