Health authorities today confirmed 170 new dengue infections across Sindh after 2,151 individuals were screened, with the majority of positive results originating from laboratories in Karachi, according to a daily report from the Director General of Health Sindh.

The report detailed that a total of 49 new patients were hospitalized across the province, with 26 admitted to government facilities and an additional 29 reported in private institutions.

Of the new cases, Karachi division recorded 109 positive tests and saw 16 patients admitted to state-run hospitals. Meanwhile, Hyderabad reported 61 positive tests and seven new admissions in its government medical centers.

On a positive note, the dispatch indicated that 63 patients have been discharged after successful treatment, with 38 recovering in government hospitals and 25 in private ones. Authorities also affirmed that no dengue-related fatalities have occurred in the province so far.

In response to the situation, the Director General of Health Sindh has issued a public appeal, urging citizens to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings and to contact the nearest hospital for timely diagnosis and care.
