18 Apprehended as Police Seize Drugs and Firearms in Capital Sweep

Islamabad police have arrested 18 individuals and recovered a significant cache of narcotics and illegal weapons during a widespread operation targeting criminal elements across the federal capital, according to the Islamabad Capital Police.

According to a police report today, in a series of coordinated actions, police teams from the Phulgran, Bhara Kahu, Lohi Bher, Noon, Shams Colony, Tarnol, Aabpara, Kohsar, and Khanna stations took 11 suspects into custody for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

The seizures from these individuals included 1,170 grams of hashish, 60 bottles of liquor, six pistols complete with ammunition, and a dagger.

Separately, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and fugitives resulted in the apprehension of an additional seven wanted criminals by various police units.

Official cases have been registered against all the detained suspects, and further investigations are currently underway.

The crackdown is part of a continuing effort, following special directions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at curbing crime and maintaining tranquility in the city.

A police spokesperson reiterated the force”s commitment to protecting residents and stated that elements disrupting public peace would not be tolerated.

Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station or the ‘Pucar-15’ emergency helpline to assist in crime prevention efforts.
