Court: (Pemra chairman presents donation cheque for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dam to CJP)

ISLAMABAD:Chairman, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Mohammad Saleem Baig called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar in his chamber on Wednesday here at Supreme Court and presented a cheque as donation for construction of Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam fund on behalf of Pemra employees.

PEMRA officers have donated two days’ whereas, officials have donated one-day, salary for the Dam Fund.

Chairman PEMRA also briefed the Chief Justice that Pemra is taking all efforts for dissemination of Public Service Message through all TV channels, FM radios and Cable networks in order to create awareness among masses for generously contributing/ donating for this national cause.

It is pertinent to mention that the CJP has established a fund and public can contribute Rupees 10 by texting “DAM” on 8000.

JSQM-B leader Sagar Hanif Brudi passes away

NAUSHEHRO FEROZE:Sindhi nationalist and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Muhaz-Bashir (JSQM-B) group leader Sagar Hanif Burdi passed away due to cardiac arrest near here Wednesday.

Sagar Hanfi Burdi was former general Secretary of JSQM-B. He died at his home in Padidan Town.

JSQM-B leader Dr Niaz Kalani told PPI that Burdi was a committed person with the ideology of GM Syed. He was close aide of JSQM leader late Bashir Khan Qureshi.

The funeral prayer was offered at his village near Padidan. A large number of political, social activist and JSQM-B leaders attended it.

Theft, bike snatching on the rise in Larkana

LARKANA:Deputy Medical Superintendent, Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, lost his new motorcycle CD-70 which he purchased 15 days ago.

Dr Abdul Sattar Shaikh told this scribe that SSP Larkana Shabir Sethar was claiming peace in entire district but lawlessness here had increased manifold. He said motorcycles were being snatched daily from every nook and corner of the district but criminals flee without any interruption by the police.

He said motorcycles were being stolen or snatched from thickly populated Jinnah Bagh Road which always remained busy. He demanded of higher Sindh government authorities to take notice of the prevailing law and order situation which had created a sense of insecurity among the residents of entire Larkana district.

Naundero police have also completely failed to track down the gang which had become infamous. Trader Kailash Kumar was deprived of Rs 7 lakh cash three days.

All nine members of a family born on 01st August

LARKANA:All nine members of the family of one teacher Amir Ali Mangi were born on 1st August and they always celebrate this unique day by cutting a cake in their home annually.

Amir was born on 01st August 1968, his wife Khadija Amir Mangi on 01st August 1973, their daughter Sindhu on 01st August 1992, twins Sassui and Sapna on 01st August 1998, son Amir Mangi on 01st August 2001, second son Ambar Mangi on 01st August 2002 and their third son Amar Mangi on 01st August 2003.

Amir is posted as High School Teacher at Government High School in Dhamrah near Larkana. He told newsmen on Wednesday: “We all members of the family are celebrating our birthdays every year which has multiplied our happiness and is a treasure for us. I was also married on 01st August in 1991 and then himself claimed that it is a world record.

Three of a family gunned down in Mansehra

MANSEHRA:Three members of a family were killed in Oghi Durha area of Mansehra on Wednesday.

According to police, Samina, along with her daughter and her father-in-law, were coming back from Battagram to Mansehra after attending a hearing in a court when unknown armed men opened fire on their car in Oghi Durha area. As a result, they suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Samina, who belonged to Kohistan, had got divorce from her first husband Gul Mazeer and married to another man Umair. Her first husband had registered a kidnapping case against Umair who was later arrested by police and locked up in Battagram police station.

The police have claimed to have apprehended five accused involved in this incident and recovered arms from their possession. They have also registered a case and started further investigation into the incident.

Opposition’s grand alliance termed a conspiracy to spread anarchy

KARACHI:Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Women Wing Sindh President Nusrat Wahid said on Wednesday that opposition’s grand alliance is actually a conspiracy to spread anarchy.

“General election 2018 was unbiased in the history as Election Commission and security agencies ensured best arrangement to people to independently elect their candidates while entry of irrelevant persons was banned in the polling stations,” she said in a statement.

She said information of bogus voting was not received all over Pakistan including Karachi region as the election process was done successfully. She rejected poll rigging allegations leveled by PML-N, MMA, ANP and other political parties.

PTI women leader said that PML-N and PPP remained in power repeatedly, but they solved public problems only on documentary basis but not on operational basis.

Instead of reducing poverty and inflation, promoting education and paying foreign debts, they put public into complex situation of inflation, she said.

Rickshaw driver killed,robber injured in police encounter

KARACHI:A man was killed and a robber injured during an alleged police encounter in New Karachi area of the metropolis on Wednesday.

According to police sources, a gang of three robbers was trying to snatch a motorbike from a citizen when a police team reached the scene. The robbers opened fire on police team. The bandits retaliated the fire. In the crossfire, an innocent rickshaw driver, Abdul Nafees Khan, who was on his way to somewhere, and a robber injured. However, two robbers managed to escape the scene.

They were shifted to AbbasiShaheed Hospital for treatment, where driver Nafees succumbed to his injuries.
