Three dead in Bolan accident

Quetta:Three people died in an accident in District Bolan of Balochistan.

Among the dead included one Haji Ghulam Dastagir, Haji Eid Muhammad and their friend. The deceased were residents of Pushtoonabad, an area of Quetta city.

The concerned administration was further investigating the matter.

Minor tremor jolts Kalat

QUETTA:An earthquake of 2.3 magnitudes with the depth of 16 KM jolted Kalat area of Balochistan.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 60KM east of Kalat.

However, no injuries were reported.

Proposal of national dialogue welcomed

LAHORE:Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has welcomed the proposal of the new Chief Justice of Pakistan for a national dialogue and said that a dialogue between national institutions would have salutary results. He was addressing the concluding session of the JI central workshop for party workers at Mansoora.

Sirajul Haq said that in the elections, the people voted for a change but every time, more incompetent persons than before came to power. He said the difference between the previous and the present rulers was only in name as their actions were the same.

He said the amount of loan secured by the present rulers during its six months was almost the same what the previous rulers had secured during five years. The burden of loan on the country was increasing by Rs. 620 million per hour which might drown the ship of the national economy.

Referring to the withdrawal of the names of some persons from the ECL, the JI chief said it proved that the government took decisions without giving a thought.

Sirajul Haq said that the party that had been talking much of accountability had made the entire exercise a doubtful because out of the names in the Panama leaks, none except the former Prime Minister had been tried and punished.

He said the people were tired of the war of words between politicians. He said the previous and the present rulers were fighting with each other but they joined hands against the ban on liquor and for the release of Christian woman Aasia Masih charged with blasphemy.

Sirajul Haq said the JI wanted real accountability and not political victimization. He said that if real accountability was held, new jails would be needed in the country.

He said that the expectations of the people from the PTI government were dying. The PTI in its election campaign, had promised prosperity and relief for the poor but its decisions so far had only added to the problems of the people.

He said that it was because of the corruption and incompetence of rulers that more than 77 million people in the country were living below poverty line, more than 223 million children of school going age were out of schools, and hundreds of thousands of educated young men with degrees in their hands, were searching for jobs but in vain.

Sirajul Haq said the nation was aware of the factors of JIs defeat in the elections. However, he said, the JI had lost election, but had neither given up hope nor sold way its conscience and faith. He urged the nation to stand by the JI to get rid of the leadership that was slave of the international establishment.

JI launches “green Jacket” movement

LAHORE:Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that outgoing Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had left the scene after playing an active role marking the protection of the common man’s interest and a glorious tradition of the rule of law, and his tenure would become a part of the history of the judiciary.

Talking to the media after launching JI’’s “Green Jacket” movement stressing the need for the solution of the people’s problems and social reformation in the city, he however said that the positive and the negative aspects of the Justice Saqib Nisar’s decisions would come to the fore in the days to come.

Liaqat Baloch termed the narrative of the new Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa’s narrative as most impressive and in line with the working of the judiciary in which the weaknesses and the requirements of the judicial system had been spelt out. He said the need of the hour was to establish the supremacy of the constitution and the law and to provide prompt and inexpensive justice to the people.

Meanwhile, while talking to the Ulema and Mashaikh at Mansoora, he said that at a time when the country was facing numerous crises, the political and democratic forces were fighting with one another. He said if the parliament and the assemblies did not play their constitutional role, the democratic system would suffer.

Woman dies after falling from rooftop

KARACHI:A woman was killed after falling from the rooftop of a building in Mehmoodabad area of the city on Friday.

According to rescue sources, a 35-year-old woman, Shagufta, wife of Ramzan, fell from the rooftop of a building in Mehmoodabad No-6. As a result, she suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for an autopsy.

Traffic police boss takes notice of SITE issues

Karachi:DIGP (Traffic) Javed Ali Mehar has taken serious notice of issues of traffic jams highlighted by Saleem Parekh, President SITE Association of Industry.

He assured that immediately anti-encroachment campaign would start with the help of DC-West at Shershah, Gulbai and removal of all truck, bus and rickshaw stands.

DIGP agreed with the views and suggestions of SITE Association of Industry and immediately instructed to provide lifter at Afza Flyover from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for removal of faulty vehicles; issuance of challans to wrong side violators; and clearing all 10 traffic congestion points in SITE Area.

He also agreed to take up the matter of widening of Orangi Nala Bridge; placement of height barrier, cat-eyes/studs at ICI Bridge to Jinnah flyover; replacement of loose expansion joints at Lyari Expressway and allowing 6-wheeler to ply in SITE Area except from 5-8 p.m.

On the occasion, Saleem Parekh appreciated traffic police working in the area, however he highlighted that there is always room for improvement. He added that behavior of traffic police in dealing with people has improved immensely.

Saleem Parekh was of the view that in order to save time and fuel due to traffic jam serious actions need to be taken on top priority basis.

Addressing to thesis show of the passed out students of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, he appreciated the passed out students and said that Sindh government will play role to create opportunities for these students in different sectors. He observed the paintings, textile design and President Art’s Council of Pakistan Muhammad Ahmed Shah presented a bouquet to him.
