President Alvi lauds Rs 1,100 bln development package to address Karachi’s issues

In a tweet on Sunday, he said rains have devastated Karachi, the biggest tax payer of the country. He said reviving its economy rests on its infrastructure, water supply, rain drains and sewage. He said Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cooperation in earnest can do wonders to lift his city out of misery.

Pakistan Navy releases new video clip on occasion of Defence Day

Islamabad, September 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Navy has released a new video clip on the occasion of Defence Day. According to the Spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, rich tribute has been paid to the everlasting sacrifices of the martyrs of Pakistan in the video clip.

The Spokesperson said Pakistan Navy presents salute to the martyrs, who laid down their lives in defence of the maritime borders of their motherland. The officers and jawans of Pakistan Navy are ready to render every kind of sacrifice to protect their motherland.

Shireen Mazari salutes to valiant soldiers who were martyred for defence of country

Islamabad, September 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari in her message pertaining to Youme Shuhada said that we salute to the valiant soldiers and officers who fought bravely and many were martyred.

In a tweet, she said the battle of Chawinda, the largest tank battle since World War two, halted Indian attack in Sialkot campaign. The minister said our move towards indigenisation of weapons production and nuclear capability has allowed us to establish deterrence in our region.

Nation present salute to Shuhada who sacrificed lives for defence of motherland: Shibli

Islamabad, September 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz says we present salute to our Shuhada and Ghazis, who sacrificed their lives for the protection, defence and security of their motherland. In his video message on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day, the Information Minister said, today, we also renew pledge that Pakistan stands firmly with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will always stand with them.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan will continue advocacy of innocent Kashmiri people at every forum. He said Pakistan will continue to extend vigorous political, moral and diplomatic support of the Kashmiri people.

Defence and Martyrs Day being observed today

Islamabad, September 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): Defence and Martyrs Day is being observed today (Sunday) to pay tributes to the martyrs and Ghazis and reaffirm commitment to defend the motherland against all threats. It was on this day in 1965 that the Indian forces crossed international border in the darkness of night to attack Pakistan but the nation foiled nefarious designs of the enemy.

Special prayers were offered after Fajr in mosques for the progress and prosperity of the country and independence of occupied Kashmir from the cruel clutches of India. Fateha and Quran Khawani are also being held for the martyrs.

The day dawned with 31-gun salute at the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute at provincial capitals. At an investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Dr. Arif Alvi will confer upon military awards to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces in recognition of their meritorious services to the nation.

285,898 patients recovered from coronavirus

Islamabad, September 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): 285,898 patients have recovered from Coronavirus in Pakistan leaving behind only 6,260 active cases in the country. Of the 25,384 coronavirus tests carried out over the last twenty-four hours, 484 people tested positive while 2 new deaths have also been reported from the virus during the same period.
