PM to participate in Award ceremony of Clean Green Index

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Award ceremony of Clean Green Index of nineteen competing cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held in Islamabad on Monday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will participate as the chief guest.

The Prime Minister launched the Clean Green Pakistan Movement on 25th November last year.

The major focus of the initiative is to inculcate a spirit of competition on cleanliness initiatives in the cities and facilitate the behavioral change, building positive attitudes, institutional strengthening for better water, sanitation and hygiene services and facilities.

PM committed to development of country, solving its problems: Shibli

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Syed Shibli Faraz has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to the development of the country and solving its problems.

Talking to media at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, he said that the government’s polices strengthened the economy and economic indicators improved.

He said that government is fully aware of the problems of journalists and is working to resolve the problems faced by the media industry.

The Minister said in the past politicians practiced politics of vested interests aimed at weakening the national institutions.

Shibli Faraz said the opposition is doing a failed show. He said the opposition parties have joined hands to protect the looted wealth. He said that the opposition also attempted to blackmail the government on FATF legislation.

Information Minister said the people rejected these elements in 2018 elections.

440 more people test COVID positive

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):440 more people tested COVID positive after the tests of 27,091 over the last twenty-four hours.

According to the latest statistics, the virus claimed lives of five more people during the last twenty-four hours.

The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 307,409. There are now 9,384 active cases in the country.

Govt to soon overcome issue of inflation: NA Speaker

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has expressed the hope that inflation of essential commodities in the country will be controlled very soon.

Addressing a function in Swabi, he said the Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken action against the sugar mafia due to which the sugar mafia increased the price of sugar.

Asad Qaiser said that the price of sugar has gone up all over the world.

He said that the opposition and hoarders have created an artificial crisis to discredit the people from the government.

The Speaker said that the problem of sugar and flour in the country will be solved soon.

Coalition of opposition will not last longer: Shah Mahmood

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the coalition of opposition parties will not last longer because all these parties have different political interests, ideologies, manifestos and flags.

Addressing a news conference in Multan, he said the different leaders gathered at one platform due to fear of cases and ultimately to escape from accountability process.

The Foreign Minister said that PTI has not registered any case against these parties.

He said the government gave free-hand to Opposition for holding public meetings and PTI strongly believes in democracy.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar to arrive in Islamabad today

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Leader of Hezb-e-Islami of Afghanistan Gulbuddin Hekmatyar along with a delegation is arriving Islamabad today (Monday) on a three-day visit to Pakistan.

During the visit, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will call on the Prime Minister and the President and will meet the Chairman Senate, the Speaker National Assembly, the Foreign Minister and other dignitaries.

He will deliver a talk at a policy think-tank and interact with the media.

The visit of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will provide an opportunity for exchange of views on the Afghan peace process and strengthening of Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations as well as people-to-people interaction.

Pakistan has consistently supported an inclusive, broad-based and comprehensive political settlement through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

The visit of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will further strengthen bilateral ties and people-to-people linkages between the two brotherly countries and help advance efforts for peace and stability.

Coronavirus affected economies worldwide: Shibli Faraz

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz says the government and opposition are parts of the democratic system and the role of opposition is to point out mistakes of the government for rectification.

Talking to PTV, he said unfortunately in our country, the opposition is busy in the defence of their corruption.

The Minister said the politicians of the past extended their business during their regimes and that is the why millions of rupees were recovered from the accounts of their servants.

He said coronavirus affected the economies worldwide and we too bore the brunt of the virus, however Prime Minister wanted to put minimum burden on the poor and bring prices of commodities to a minimum level.
