President: (President urges private sector to play role for promotion of tourism)

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed that there is immense potential of development of Pakistan’s tourism sector.

Talking to a delegation of International College for Tourism and Hotel Management here on Thursday, he said this will also create enormous job opportunities for our youth. The President said the private sector should also play its role for promotion of tourism sector.

President: (President reaffirms Pakistan’s support for territorial integrity of Azerbaijan)

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

He was talking to Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov who called on him here on Thursday. The President congratulated the government and people of Azerbaijan over the liberation of Nagorno Karabakh.

The President said Pakistan highly values its relations with Azerbaijan which are based on common faith and cultural linkages. He underlined the need to expand the bilateral volume of trade and further promotion of cultural and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan said both the countries have a great potential for increasing trade and cultural cooperation. He thanked Pakistan for supporting Azerbaijan’s stance on Nagorno Karabakh. He stated that his country would continue to stand by Pakistan on Kashmir issue at all international fora.

Report: (KSRelief completes distribution of winter relief goods in KP, Islamabad)

ISLAMABAD: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Pakistan has completed the distribution of winter relief goods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and outskirts of Islamabad.

According to a Radio report, the package included 45,100 comforters and 22,550 kits, including men’s and women’s warm shawls and warm clothing for children and adults worth Rs200 million.

Distribution of Shah Salman Relief Package was done in a very transparent manner through the joint efforts of the local administration. In total, more than 135,000 people benefited from this package.

FO: (Azerbaijan FM visits FO)

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov visited the Foreign Office (FO) here on Thursday and planted a sapling there.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also present on the occasion.

Report: (Moody’s improves its rating for Pakistan’s banking sector)

ISLAMABAD: The international credit rating agency Moody’s has improved its rating for Pakistan’s banking sector as stable.

According to an official report quoting Moody’ Investors Service report said that the government’s credit profile is stable due to ongoing reforms and increasing policy effectiveness.

It said stable outlook for Pakistan’s banking system reflects banks’ solid funding and liquidity. The report said deposit-based funding and good liquidity buffers also remain strengths, while the probability of government support in a crisis is high.

Minister: (Current year will prove to be game changer for Pakistan in health sector: Fawad)

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Science and Technology has expressed the confidence that the current year will prove to be a game changer for Pakistan for the manufacturing of equipment and machinery in the health sector.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said Pakistan which was not able to produce syringes will join the countries that manufacture high tech machinery. He said at least two big brands of the world are ready to establish their factories in Pakistan.
