Citizens’ safety, our foremost priority: DIG

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Islamabad Afzaal Ahmed Kousar has said that no laxity would be tolerated in the safety and security of the citizens. He was chairing a meeting, the other day, to review the crime situation in the city. SSP (Operations) Syed Ali Akbar Shah, all zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs of all the police stations attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation in the city.

The DIG announced reward for Investigation Officer from Lohi Bher police station for his excellent performance. He also issued show cause notice to several officers over showing poor performance. Speaking on the occasion, the DIG warned the officers that no laxity towards safety and security of the citizens would be tolerated and strict disciplinary action would be initiated against them. “We are servants of the citizens and their safety is our foremost priority,” he added.

He further directed all officers to arrest the offenders involved in heinous crimes especially murder cases adding that the ratio of challan of the cases and recoveries should be increased. The DIG asked police officials to accomplish all their responsibilities in a professional manner. He also directed the officials concerned to submit challans in the cases that had been pending since years and also submit a report in this regard to his office.

The DIG said that the SP, SDPO, SHOs and investigation officers must remain in touch with the complainant and apprise them about progress in the case so that public trust in police could be restored. He strictly directed the officers concerned not to implicate any innocent in the case during snap-checking. He directed to intensify patrolling in their respective areas and check suspected and without number plates motorbikes. The DIG emphasized that, Almighty Allah asks us to protect right of others and it is our duty to ensure it and get inner satisfaction through our actions.

Meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security underway in Islamabad

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):The meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security is underway at parliament house Islamabad with Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in the chair. The members of the National Assembly and Senate are participating in the meeting. The committee will be briefed about the national security matters by the top military brass.

Tarin vows to support agriculture, SMEs and IT sectors to take country forward 

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Advisor on Finance Shaukat Tarin has assured to fully support the agriculture, Small and Medium Enterprises and the IT sectors in order to take forward the country. Addressing Kamyab Jawan Convention in Islamabad on Monday, he said that a fund will be established to provide finances to those associated with the SMEs and the IT sectors.

Shaukat Tarin said it is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to extend every possible facilitation to the youth so that they can better serve the nation. He said Kamyab Jawan Program has been started with the same purpose to exploit the potential of the youth.

The Advisor said that interest free agriculture and business loans are being provided under another initiative of Kamyab Pakistan Program which has been started to uplift about four million marginalized families. Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Usman Dar said thirty billion rupees have been disbursed to youth under Kamyab Jawan Program. He said remaining seventy billion rupees will be disbursed till 2023.

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan has said our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatim un Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Ala Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam first raised the moral standards of the state of Madina through his own supreme example of Sadiq and Ameen before they became one of the greatest civilisations. He said this in a tweet on Monday while sharing a quote of Roman Statesman Scipio which states that no society is fortunate when its walls are standing while its morals are in ruin.

Pakistan in much better position than rest of world: Fawad 

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said country’s industry has revived and construction sector is also fully operational. In his tweets on Monday, he said the agricultural economy is prosperous whilst the exports of IT sector have tripled.

The Information Minister said that the income of workers, farmers and industry has increased, expressing the confidence that the global prices will also normalize in six to eight months. He further said Pakistan is in a much better position than the rest of the world today due to its successful policy against Covid-19 commended also by the international community.

Senate, National Assembly meet in Islamabad today 

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Sessions of the Senate and the National Assembly will separately be held at Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday. The Upper House will meet at 4:30 p.m., while the Lower House will resume at six p.m. Besides legislative business, both the Houses will discuss matters of national and international importance.

Parliamentary Committee on national security to meet today 

Islamabad, November 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Parliamentary Committee on National Security, comprising members of the National Assembly and Senate, will be briefed by top military brass about overall affairs of national security in Islamabad on Monday.

The meeting, to be chaired by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar, will also be briefed by the military officials on current national security issues. Federal Ministers, provincial Chief Ministers, AJK President and Prime Minister, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and leaders of other parliamentary parties have also been invited to attend the meeting.
