27th Constitutional Amendment is an attempt to impose ‘monarchy’ :Sindh United Party

On the call of the Sindh Bachao Committee, the Sindh United Party (SUP) staged a demonstration in Thatta on Tuesday, warning that the 27th Constitutional Amendment is an attempt to impose “monarchy” and could lead to a “major rebellion” by violating public rights and paralyzing the country’s judiciary.

The rally, held in front of the National Press Club Thatta, was led by the local leadership of SUP, including District President Imran Khushk, Shaukat Ali Mangi, Deedar Memon, Qasim Khoso, and Mir Hassan Panhwar. The participants voiced their opposition through sloganeering, targeting the constitutional change and the legal proceedings against prominent nationalist figures.

Addressing the gathering, party officials condemned the “false cases” filed against nationalist leaders Syed Zain Shah, Riaz Chandio, and Dr. Niaz Kalani.

The speakers claimed that the state is attempting to suppress political voices through various tactics. They reiterated that the leaders and people of Sindh will not back down from their struggle for their legitimate rights and will “stand firm and resist” despite any hardship.

The leaders also issued a stern warning to the political parties supporting the amendment, stating that they have acted in their self-interest and will ultimately “regret their decision.”

The demonstration concluded with clear demands: the immediate withdrawal of legal proceedings against nationalist figures and the complete annulment of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
