34 encounters took place between Karachi police and accused last week, during separate encounters seven suspected criminals were killed and another 55, including 41 injured dacoits, were arrested.
According to a statement issued by the Karachi Police spokesperson on Monday, as a result of extensive week-long operations, a total of more than 795 individuals were taken into custody under various charges.
In a major operation against drug smuggling, authorities recovered a large quantity of illegal drugs from individuals allegedly involved in the drug trade. The recovered drugs include 28 kilograms and 855 grams of charas, ice/crystal, and heroin, with an estimated value of millions of rupees.
During the ongoing city-wide crackdown, 154 illegal weapons of various types were also recovered from the possession of the detained accused.
Furthermore, a total of 34 motorcycles and three other vehicles were also recovered during the operations.
The police spokesperson confirmed that formal cases have been registered against all arrested individuals and comprehensive investigations are underway.
