The Deputy Commissioner of Naushahro Feroze, Muhammad Arsalan, on Friday chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for the national polio eradication campaign. The campaign will commence on April 21 and aims to administer polio drops to children under the age of five. During the campaign, the goal is to vaccinate 342,312 children in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner I, Saddam Hussain Memon, District Health Officer Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kalhoro, and other relevant officials. The Deputy Commissioner urged health officers to take measures to vaccinate the children of individuals coming from other areas for wheat harvesting.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed that teams be dispatched to the field quickly during the hot weather and that all necessary arrangements be made to maintain the cold chain of the vaccines. All teams will be provided with full uniforms and identification cards.
District Health Officer Dr. Ghulam Qadir Chandio and Focal Person Dr. Vijay Kumar reported that 1,025 teams have been formed for the campaign, including 893 mobile teams, 73 fixed teams, 41 transit teams, and 18 SMT teams.
During the campaign, false reporting will not be tolerated, and a complete record of vaccines, vaccine carriers, pointers, and other materials will be maintained. Banners and arrangements related to the campaign will be made at all transit points.
