The atmosphere in village 44 SP Waltoia turned mournful today when seven-year-old Zulekha, who was severely injured in a savage attack by a pack of stray dogs, succumbed to her injuries. The child’s death after enduring five days of agony in the hospital has sparked deep grief and anger in the local community.
This tragic incident occurred several days ago when Zulekha Bibi was passing by a poultry farm located near the fields. Suddenly, a group of stray dogs attacked her, knocked her to the ground and brutally mauled various parts of her body.
Hearing her screams, local residents rushed to her aid and rescued the child from the animals with great difficulty.
The severely injured child was immediately transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Haveli Lakha, for emergency medical treatment. Given the seriousness of her condition, she was immediately referred to DHQ Hospital, Okara, after receiving initial first aid.
When her health began to deteriorate further, medical experts arranged for her transfer to a hospital in Lahore. Despite receiving medical treatment for five days, the child could not be saved and she passed away.
