KARACHI:Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Talha Mahmood, has said the government gives immense value to the services rendered by concerned charities and philanthropists for extending relief to the victims of recent floods in the country.

The Federal Minister SAFRON stated this while speaking as the chief guest at the 15th International CSR Summit and Awards-2023 organized by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) to recognize excellence shown by the corporate sector in the last year in uplifting the underprivileged communities in the country.

Mahmood said the government always required help from the corporate sector, philanthropists, and non-governmental organizations to mitigate the miseries of the downtrodden people. He said the government possessed limited financial resources while the challenge to extend relief to the underprivileged classes was enormously massive so it always needed the support of the concerned charities and NGOs.

He said that before the devastating floods of last year, the NGOs and welfare organizations had earlier rendered excellent services in providing food rations to the needy people during coronavirus lockdowns. Also speaking on the occasion, NFEH President, Naeem Qureshi, said the CSR Summit and Awards were organized every year as a forum to help NGOs, charities, and the corporate sector to combine their efforts and resources for the good of the deprived communities in Pakistan.
