77 more quack clinics sealed in Sindh during a week

KARACHI:Anti-Quackery Directorate of Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) conducted 153 field visits in Karachi and other divisions of Sindh province and sealed 77 clinics run by quacks in a week, PPI learnt Monday.

 

The anti-quackery teams of SHCC carried out field visits in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas divisions last week and sealed off 77 quack clinics. The teams have closed 3,761 clinics across the Sindh province so far.

 

Director Anti Quackery held a meeting with Justice (Rtd) Majida Rizvi at Sindh Human Rights Commission. In the meeting, it was decided to hold a joint session in Karachi for awareness about existence of quacks in Sindh and strategy to curb their activities.

 

Similarly, Sindh Healthcare Commission’s Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation conducted awareness session for Registration procedure of Healthcare Establishments in Mirpurkhas Division. In the session CEO SHCC, Syed Baqar Raza Rizvi and Director Licensing and Accreditation Dr Mehtab Akhtar gave their speeches.

 

At the end, provisional licenses were distributed to HCEs. The Directorate issued till date 484 provisional licenses to various HCEs in Sindh.
