KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori Tuesday conferred an honorary doctorate degree on Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House.
Speaking on this occasion, the Sindh governor said that he congratulated University of Karachi for conferring an honorary degree on the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is a matter of honor for Karachi that the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran was being awarded an honorary degree, said the governor and added that Pak-Iran diplomatic relations span many decades.
Tessori said that he had invited Iranian investors to invest in Pakistan, especially its economic hub Karachi. The governor said that the way the Iranian Ambassador and Consul General were playing their role in the relationship between the two countries was commendable. The governor said that a more effective policy should be made for investment between Iran and Pakistan, so that investment in both countries could be further promoted.
He said that since Pakistan and Iran are neighboring countries, they could learn a lot from each other’s experiences in various fields. Tessori said: “We have to improve our economy by using each other’s resources. If our economy improves, the quality of life of the people will also improve.”
