List of 33 police officers and personnel allegedly involved in drug trafficking and facilitating narcotics dealers in Mirpurkhas district has been released for conducting investigation against them.
According to an official report, SSP Badin Shiraz Nazir has been tasked to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter and submitting a comprehensive report. The implicated officials have been summoned for a personal hearing on January 25, 2025.
The allegations range from supporting gutka, mawa, and narcotics trade to taking bribes for illegal transfers. Reports suggest that some officers, previously dismissed for similar offenses, managed to return to their posts through systemic loopholes. This time, the IGP Sindh has directed strict departmental action against any individuals found guilty.
The crackdown follows earlier actions by DIG Mirpurkhas, Muhammad Zubair Dreshak, who issued show-cause notices to 19 officials.
