Islamabad: In a recent meeting at the Finance Division, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Mr. Yousaf Hussain, President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), discussed the country’s macroeconomic landscape and future policy directions.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, Mr. Hussain commended the government’s efforts in achieving macroeconomic stability, citing the positive impact of improved economic indicators due to the government’s policies. He expressed optimism about the ongoing economic recovery and its future prospects.
Mr. Hussain highlighted the necessity of maintaining a dialogue between the government and the OICCI, especially during the consultative process for the upcoming federal budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, which is scheduled for June 2024. He stressed the importance of a favorable policy framework and policy continuity to consolidate economic gains and sustain macroeconomic stability.
Senator Aurangzeb assured Mr. Hussain of the government’s commitment to engaging with the business community. He emphasized the importance of incorporating their feedback in the budget formulation process, with a focus on supporting businesses, attracting investment, and strengthening economic growth.
