Peshawar: Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt, visited the organization’s provincial headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to receive a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing welfare services aimed at supporting the impoverished populace of the region.
According to a statement by Pakistan Bait-Ul-Mal, Director of PBM for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lal Badshah, outlined the organization’s initiatives in the province. Currently, 30 women empowerment centers are operational, focusing on empowering vulnerable women across various districts. Additionally, 24 centers are dedicated to providing education to labor children, while eight Sweet Homes are functioning to raise and educate orphaned children. The PBM is also involved in offering scholarships to needy students, providing medical treatment to deserving patients, rehabilitating differently-abled individuals, facilitating cochlear implants for deaf and mute children, and economically supporting disadvantaged persons.
During the visit, Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt reiterated his commitment to assisting vulnerable individuals and emphasized enhancing the efficiency of existing welfare projects. He stated that PBM would continue to implement measures to aid the impoverished in the province’s remote and backward areas, aligning with the federal government’s vision of achieving prosperity and stability across all provinces by alleviating poverty. He also instructed that the dignity of all individuals associated with PBM be respected, and their relief expedited.
The visit also included discussions on expanding current welfare activities and exploring additional supportive measures to improve the lives of the underprivileged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Following the meeting, the Managing Director visited a PBM Sweet Home in Mardan district, where he interacted with orphaned children and assessed the facilities provided.
