Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged in discussions with Citibank’s delegation, headed by Mr. Georgi Yordanov, during the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings.
The focus was on Pakistan’s potential re-entry into commercial credit markets following a recent upgrade in its sovereign ratings.
The Finance Minister expressed gratitude to Citibank for its enduring support and contributions to Pakistan’s financial landscape. He highlighted that the improved macroeconomic indicators and fiscal consolidation have paved the way for considering a return to international credit markets.
Both parties evaluated opportunities for future cooperation to enhance Pakistan’s integration into the global financial ecosystem.
