In a decisive move to strengthen law enforcement, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, convened pivotal meetings across various zones, including City Zone, Saddar Zone, Industrial Area Zone, Swan Zone, and Rural Zone.
During these crucial sessions, the DIG directed officers to carry out relentless legal action against a wide range of criminal activities, from car and motorcycle theft to drug dealing and illegal arms. A stern warning was issued to address land grabbing, kite flying, and sales, with a particular focus on intensifying efforts to dismantle criminal networks and apprehend fugitives.
The DIG scrutinized the performance of all zones, issuing mandates to bolster crime management and elevate investigative standards. He called for the swift filing of charge sheets in ongoing investigations and launched a vigorous campaign against illegal practices.
Highlighting modern policing techniques, he urged the integration of advanced technology with traditional methods to enhance law enforcement efficiency. The importance of taking uncompromising legal action against grave offenses was reiterated, alongside ensuring justice is served to offenders.
Officers were instructed to prioritize merit-based inquiries and expedite the capture of absconders, emphasizing the gathering of robust evidence to secure convictions. Station House Officers (SHOs) were tasked with addressing public grievances effectively at the precinct level, maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on crimes against women and children.
The directive included a call for targeted patrols and the apprehension of professional beggars and their enablers, ensuring thorough legal measures are enacted. Stressing integrity, the DIG declared that misconduct and corruption would not be tolerated.
He urged the force to uphold exemplary discipline, reaffirming the protection of citizens’ lives and properties as the foremost duty, cautioning that any negligence would be met with strict consequences.
