Major Crackdown Conducted on Encroachments in Rawalpindi Railway Division

Under the strict directive of Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, a significant operation against encroachments has been launched in the Rawalpindi Railway Division.

This initiative, supported by the civil administration, is a testament to the minister”s commitment to reclaiming valuable railway land.

Led by DS Nooruddin Dawood, the operation is backed by Railway Police, Anti-Encroachment staff, and civil authorities. The coordinated effort has successfully targeted illegal wooden structures near the Murid Railway Bridge, which had evolved from temporary shelters to permanent buildings over two decades. The operation reclaimed approximately 14 kanal of land, previously occupied and worth millions of rupees.

Minister Abbasi underscored the operation”s importance, affirming, ‘Our government will not allow anyone to occupy railway land.’ He clarified that the operation aims to uphold the rule of law, improve the railway system, and benefit the public. Abbasi announced plans to extend the operation nationwide, reinforcing the government”s stance against encroachments and emphasizing the protection of the railway system in the public interest.
