Pakistan People’s Party leader Senator Sassui Palijo has expressed strong reaction to police violence in Sindh and has appealed to the police to stop actions against peaceful protesters.
In her statement, Sassui Palijo said that lawyers and other protesters have come out for Sindh’s water rights and against anti-Sindh canals. She stated that these protesters are engaging in a peaceful struggle, which is their constitutional right.
She warned the police to refrain from violence and coercion. Palijo emphasized that the police should be aware of their responsibilities and should not violate public rights.
Palijo’s statement came at a time when reports suggest that police have used force against the protesters. The protesters have expressed their concerns about water distribution in Sindh.
She further stated that the government should take public grievances seriously and take immediate steps to resolve this issue. Sassui Palijo stressed that instead of stopping peaceful protests, the government should consider public demands.
