HEC Pushes Forward New FourYear LLB Curriculum

A threeday meeting of the National Curriculum Review Committee for Law, organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, has concluded with a pivotal decision to revamp the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) curriculum.

The meeting was led by Dr. Amjad Hussain, Director General Curriculum HEC, with significant contributions from Mr. Hassan Raza Pasha, Member of the Pakistan Bar Council, Barrister Usama Malik, Director of the Directorate of Legal Education Pakistan (DLE), and Dr. Aziz u Rehman, Dean of QuaidAzam University School of Law. Mr. Hidayatullah Kasi, Deputy Director (Curriculum) HEC, managed the sessions as Secretary.

The committee has given initial approval for a new fouryear LLB program, redesigning the curriculum to align with international standards and meet Pakistan’s legal education needs. The curriculum will now proceed through the necessary legal channels for final implementation.
