Tax on Sacrificial Animals Being Received by KMC

The administration of Maweshi Dost Mandi Northern Bypass Karachi has clarified that the process of collecting tax on sacrificial animals is being carried out by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

They have stated that they have no connection with this tax collection. This was stated in a press statement issued by the media cell of Cattle Market Northern Bypass.

Recently, some misunderstandings were emerging on social media regarding this issue. The mandi administration felt the need to officially state that they are not collecting any type of tax or fee.

KMC has explained that the purpose of this tax is to provide cleanliness and other facilities in the city during Eid alAdha. KMC provides services for cleaning offal and conducting disinfectant sprays after the citizens perform the ritual of sacrifice.

The Maweshi Dost Mandi administration has mentioned that they only manage the facilities for buying and selling, discipline, and care of the animals. Tax collection is KMC’s responsibility and is being conducted outside the mandi areas.

KMC states that this initiative is taken for the cleanliness of the city and the protection of public health. The mandi administration has appealed to citizens not to pay attention to rumors circulating on social media.
