Climate Change- Pakistan, UN Strengthen Partnership On Climate Change

Pakistan and the United Nations have reinforced their commitment to tackling climate change, with a focus on enhancing resilience and sustainable development.

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, met with UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya to solidify cooperation on climate action, according to official information today.

Mr. Yahya revealed that 24 UN organizations are currently working in Pakistan, concentrating on bolstering the nation”s progress and fortitude against climate change impacts.

The Minister and Mr. Yahya explored the various substantial projects undertaken by the UN in Pakistan. Their discussions encompassed the extent, execution methods, and effects of these programs, along with future collaborative strategies for climate adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable progress.

Mr. Yahya reiterated the UN’s steadfast dedication to assisting Pakistan in its climate agenda and collaborating closely with the government to achieve mutual environmental sustainability and resilience objectives.

Dr. Malik expressed gratitude for the UN’s continuous alliance and emphasized the government”s resolve to fortify collaborative structures, ensuring practical benefits for communities most susceptible to climate change effects.
