On the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari urged the women of Pakistan to prioritize their health. She highlighted the fact that one in every nine women in the country is at risk of breast cancer, and stressed the importance of addressing this health issue.
The First Lady emphasized that with early diagnosis, up to 90% recovery is possible. She encouraged women to perform regular self-examinations and recommended getting clinical check-ups after the age of 30, while mammograms should become routine after the age of 40. Furthermore, she directed them to consult healthcare professionals immediately in case of any unusual symptoms.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari stressed that adopting a healthy lifestyle can significantly reduce risk factors associated with breast cancer. Her message was also an expression of gratitude to the doctors, nurses, volunteers, and organizations dedicated to fighting this disease.
Additionally, the First Lady appealed to families and society to provide unwavering support to women to ensure timely treatment. She emotionally noted that saving the life of a mother, sister, or daughter is equivalent to protecting future generations.
