Islamabad is set to revolutionize its public service delivery with the establishment of an ‘Asaan Khidmat Markaz,’ a comprehensive one-stop facility being developed with technical assistance from Azerbaijan to streamline civic amenities for residents.
The plan was discussed during a meeting on Tuesday between a delegation of architects and consultants from Baku, Azerbaijan, and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA Headquarters. The high-level session was also attended by the Member Engineering, DG Services, and DG Building Control.
Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, stated that the authority is committed to improving citizen services, an objective that aligns with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Federal Interior Minister. He explained that the new center aims to provide multiple public services under one roof.
‘The basic objective of the Asaan Khidmat Markaz is to ensure efficient and convenient service delivery to Islamabad’s residents,’ Mr. Randhawa said, confirming that a suitable site for the initiative has already been identified.
The center, being established in collaboration with the Azerbaijan State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation, will incorporate modern technology to simplify public access. The Chairman noted that the facility would also bolster the government’s initiative to promote a cashless economy.
The Azerbaijani delegation affirmed its commitment to the project, assuring full technical cooperation in areas such as design development and the integration of public services with advanced IT systems.
Mr. Randhawa termed the undertaking a milestone in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, adding that its completion would not only strengthen bilateral cooperation but also bring a revolutionary improvement in service delivery for the capital’s populace.
