Pakistan has issued a stark warning to the international community against a premature disengagement from the Central African Republic (CAR), cautioning that such a move could imperil the fragile peace established after years of collective effort.
Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Usman Jadoon articulated the serious risks involved in an early withdrawal. He stressed that the stability achieved in the nation remains delicate and could be easily undone, according to an official report today.
The ambassador underscored that the progress made in the conflict-ridden country was the result of a sustained, long-term international presence and investment. An untimely departure, he suggested, could squander these achievements and potentially plunge the nation back into instability.
During the session on the situation in CAR, Pakistan also reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to the African nation”s peace and stability. The statement highlighted Islamabad”s continued support for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSCA) and its crucial role in consolidating peace.
