The US dollar was traded at a noticeable premium in the open market compared to its interbank valuation on Friday, according to data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP).
In the interbank market, the greenback was valued at Rs 280.91 for buying and Rs 281.11 for selling. Conversely, currency dealers in the open market quoted the American currency at Rs 281.45 for purchase and Rs 281.95 for sale.
Among other major international currencies, the British Pound Sterling was one of the most expensive, with buying and selling rates recorded at Rs 369.94 and Rs 374.23, respectively. The Euro was being exchanged at Rs 325.60 for buying and Rs 328.75 for selling.
Trading figures for key Middle Eastern currencies also showed the Saudi Riyal being transacted between Rs 75.00 and Rs 75.62. The Emirati Dirham was listed with a buying price of Rs 76.73 and a selling price of Rs 77.55.
Additionally, the Japanese Yen”s value was noted at Rs 1.81 for buying and Rs 1.87 for selling in the local currency market on the final day of the business week.
