In a novel approach to traffic management, the Islamabad Traffic Police on Saturday conducted a one-day campaign to reward law-abiding drivers rather than just penalizing violators.
Organized by the department’s Traffic Education Wing, the “Good Citizen” campaign was aimed at fostering a culture of safe driving by regularly encouraging individuals who adhere to traffic laws.
During the campaign, teams appreciated responsible drivers and distributed “Good Citizen” stickers as a token of recognition for their compliance with the rules. The stated purpose of the event was to encourage positive on-road behavior and promote general safety awareness.
Chief Traffic Officer Capt (r) Hamza Humayun emphasized the dual approach of enforcement and encouragement. “Just as it is necessary to take action against lawbreakers, it is equally important to appreciate those who abide by the law,” he said.
