A high-level delegation from Jordan’s police service visited Islamabad’s Security Division today to receive a comprehensive briefing on the capital’s advanced security system, with a particular focus on safeguarding its high-security zone which houses numerous embassies and critical government buildings.
The group of senior Jordanian police officers and representatives from their National Police Academy was welcomed by SSP Security Capt. (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, who provided them with a detailed overview of the core protective measures and operational framework of the city”s police force.
Visiting officials were informed about the centralized command system of Islamabad Police, the functioning of its various offices, and the force”s implementation of community policing concepts.
SSP Haider apprised the Jordanian officers on the extensive citywide camera network and the protective arrangements for national and international dignitaries, foreign delegations, and vital state infrastructure. He emphasized the effective performance of the police in maintaining safety.
The crucial role of checkpoints at all entry and exit points of the high-security zone was also highlighted. The SSP stated that these points are instrumental in crime prevention through diligent inspections and data recording of suspicious individuals.
The tour included a visit to the Safe City control room, the Special Protection Unit, and the Police Khidmat Markaz ‘Cascade.’ At these facilities, the visitors were shown the use of modern technology and briefed on the performance of different departments and the services provided to citizens.
The Jordanian police service delegation expressed its appreciation for the professionalism, effective management, and modern security systems employed by the Islamabad Police, extending their best wishes to the force.
To conclude the visit, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and SSP Security presented honorary shields to the visiting officials on behalf of the Islamabad Police.
