Afghan refugees arrested for deportation in Quetta, shops sealed, crackdown intensified

The crackdown against illegally residing Afghan refugees across the city was significantly intensified on Thursday following the expiration of the deadline for voluntary repatriation, during which authorities sealed numerous businesses and arrested several individuals for deportation.

Police and the district administration have sealed the shops of Afghan citizens in various areas, including Pashtunabad, Qambrani Road, Bashir Chowk, and Kuchlak. Law enforcement agencies, including the Gwalmandi Police Station, have launched an operation against individuals residing illegally in the country.

Authorities stated that these actions are being carried out in compliance with the directives of the federal and provincial governments. The operation has also been intensified in Kuchlak, from where a large number of refugees continue to return to Afghanistan.

Comprehensive planning has been finalized for further large-scale operations across the city. The objective is to ensure that all illegal Afghan citizens are repatriated to their homeland in various phases.
