Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, strongly refuted concerns of a potential economic default on Friday, asserting that Pakistan is firmly on a trajectory of progress and its international reputation has significantly improved.
The minister made these remarks while speaking to the media after the inauguration of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Camp Office in Sahiwal. He underscored that the nation’s resilience in overcoming economic and security challenges has bolstered its global standing.
Syed Imran Ahmad Shah reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to reducing poverty. He stated that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif remains fully dedicated to the economic well-being of citizens, ensuring all possible measures are taken to support low-income families through targeted initiatives.
He highlighted that combating unemployment and enhancing public prosperity are top priorities for the administration. The ministry, he noted, is working in collaboration with various welfare and development organizations to expand the reach of social protection services and ease the lives of ordinary Pakistanis.
The minister concluded that the successful handling of national challenges has led to an increase in the respect and dignity of Pakistani citizens on the world stage, reflecting the government’s sustained efforts toward sustainable development and social welfare.
