Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal has directed the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) to launch a major awareness campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan, with special focus on girls and women, so that lives can be saved through early diagnosis of cancer.
He gave this directive today in the city on the occasion of the formal inauguration of a special cancer facility at PAEC’s Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Oncology and Radiotherapy.
This new medical institution is a component of the government’s Vision 2025, which aims to provide the people living in the region with modern diagnostic, treatment, and healthcare services at their doorstep.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the Federal Minister praised the efforts of PAEC for establishing the modern treatment center.
