President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced today that support for Palestine is deeply intertwined with Pakistan’s own existence, as the country’s top leadership reiterated its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people on Saturday.
In their separate messages on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, both President and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed their resolve to continue comprehensive political, diplomatic, humanitarian, and moral support to their Palestinian “brothers and sisters”.
President Zardari expressed Pakistan’s full support for the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his respective message, emphasized the nation’s commitment to a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution to the Palestine issue, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly.
He reiterated that Pakistan stands with the Palestinians in their just struggle and their quest for freedom, dignity, and peace.
