Major Crackdown on Criminal Activities in Karachi: Over 904 Suspects Arrested, Large Cache of Weapons and Narcotics Recovered

Under the directives of Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, significant anti-crime operations were conducted across the city during the past week. As a result, over 904 suspects were arrested, while illegal weapons, drugs, vehicles, and motorcycles were also seized.

According to the Karachi Police spokesperson, a total of 17 encounters with robbers took place across various districts during the week. These shootouts led to the arrest of 39 suspects, including 25 injured criminals. Police recovered 29 illegal firearms of various types, one Corolla car, and 10 motorcycles from the detainees.

In the East, West, and South zones of Karachi, police arrested a combined total of more than 904 individuals involved in various types of criminal activities, including robbery, theft, street crimes, and drug trafficking.

As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, police recovered drugs worth millions of rupees. This included 124 kilograms and 160 grams of charas (hashish), ice/crystal meth, and heroin from various locations during raids.

Additionally, over 102 illegal weapons with ammunition-used in street crimes and robberies-were confiscated from the arrested suspects.

Karachi Police also recovered 15 snatched or stolen motorcycles and 11 large vehicles during raids in different parts of the city. These vehicles will be returned to their rightful owners following legal procedures.

The police spokesperson emphasized that Karachi Police will continue its efforts against crime, ensuring law and order and the protection of citizens through sustained and targeted actions.
